What We’re Tracking

Not as hot, still muggy Friday

Isolated weekend storm chances

Heating back up for Father’s Day

We’re starting off with clear skies this morning as temperatures are mild in the 70s. We’ll see sunshine early on before clouds start to filter through later this afternoon.

After the front moved through last night, the heat settles back a touch for our Friday. Highs should drop back into the upper 80s to near 90°, however, the heat index will likely still reach the lower 90s with slightly humid air in place.

Another round of thunderstorms is expected much later in the night Friday night into early Saturday morning, mainly for those closer to the Kansas-Nebraska state line. Some of the cloud cover may hang around for part of Saturday, but we should clear out for the remainder of the weekend.

Temperatures will climb back into the middle to upper 90s heading into Father’s Day and even into early next week. Heat index values will continue to approach triple digits as we have very limited rain chances and not much relief in sight. Make sure if you have to be outside to take frequent breaks in the shade and stay hydrated!
