CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Pop Up RVA has announces its plans to expand to a new permanent location at Chesterfield Towne Center in the fall.

According to the founder, PopUp RVA is branching out to a new permanent location on the inside of Chesterfield Towne Center, set to open on August 1.

The space is a 9,000sqft retail store, which PopUp RVA says could facilitate up to 30 new local vendors every day.

The new store will operate 7 days a week during mall hours. Customers can expect to find arts and crafts, jewelry and accessories, clothes, beauty supplies, pet supplies, games, wines and much more.

“This new endeavor is our way of creating even more opportunity for the Richmond community to shop local,” said founder Brian Sullivan  “This just seemed like the next logical step, moving from weekend and seasonal events to a full time retail store.”

PopUp RVA was established in 2020 and has since then hosted over 3,500 local vendors in the Greater Richmond area.

The new space will allow vendors in the area to open have a retail space at an affordable cost, as well as provide a flexible schedule that works for the vendors. Local vendors can have the option to sign up for a single day for retailing space in the market area.

“Most of our vendors have other jobs and are either doing this as a side hustle, or slowly trying to build into their full time income,” Sullivan said.  We want to make that transition possible, without all the underlying risk that comes along with it.  This new space will give everyone an opportunity to have a safe, reliable space to setup and grow their customer base and their business.”

PopUp RVA weekly events at The Diamond will still continue every Saturday as scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., through October. For a list of the lineup, check out the website.
