(KXNET) — High winds and rain raged through much of western North Dakota late Saturday nighht and early Sunday morning. Gusts as strong as 75 miles per hour shot through the Minot area. Meanwhile, just about all areas affected by the weather were treated to seemingly constant lightning.

KX Chief Meteorologist Kenny Miller says weather information is still coming in Sunday afternoon from the storm. The National Weather Service says moderate wind advisories are in effect until 7:00 p.m. for most western North Dakota counties.

There have initially been scattered reports of damage to roofs, fences and other outdoor items. In the Belcourt area, there are anecdotal reports of siding pulled off of buildings, roof coverings peeled back by the wind and light poles pulled from the ground.
