HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Links on Henrico County’s website, as well as county email addresses, will change in July.

According to the county, whose webpages and email addresses currently end in a .us domain, its website will be henrico.gov and its officials and county employees will have email addresses ending in @henrico.gov starting on July 1.

The change will make the county’s website and emails more easily recognizable to the public and help avoid phishing by making county personnel and officials harder to impersonate online.

After the change goes into effect, links with henrico.us domains, as well as emails to addresses ending in @henrico.us, will be redirected to the correct address. This change will not effect the county’s library, which uses henricolibrary.org and @henricolibrary.org, or the public school district, which uses henricoschools.us and @henrico.k12.va.us.
