RICHMOND, Va. (WRIC) — The Richmond Police Department is investigating after a man was shot in the city’s Southside on Sunday evening.

According to police, officers responded to the 2400 block of Halifax Avenue in Richmond’s Southside at around 8:05 p.m. on Sunday, June 16 for a report of a shooting. When they got there, officers found a man with an apparent gunshot wound.

The victim, who has not been identified by police, was taken to a local hospital with injuries that are not considered life-threatening.
