The Missouri Valley Family YMCA is bringing a fun and challenging Youth Triathlon to kids in August.

BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The Missouri Valley Family YMCA is bringing a fun and challenging Youth Triathlon to kids in August.

According to a news release, the triathlon is taking place at 9 a.m. on Saturday, August 24.

Kids ages six to 16 can join in on the non-competitive swim, bike, and run. It will be a 50-yard swim, a two-mile bike, and a half-mile run.

The YMCA says finishers will have a strong sense of accomplishment, pride, and purpose in their achievements.


Things to do around town: June 17-23

Competition times will be posted a few days after the triathlon. Each age group will compete in different heats, and their times will be based on the age group.

The youngest swimmers can wear life jackets and race alongside their parents. Bikers must wear a helmet. Scheels mechanics will be around to fix and inspect bikes.

Parents need to be present at the time of the event.

Registration is $15 a person and is available online.
