CAROLINE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A crash has shut down Route 2 in Caroline County Tuesday night.

According to the Virginia Department of Transportation, as of 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 18, Route 2 near Stonewall Jackson Road, or Route 606, is closed due to a crash.

The department has set up a detour around the closure. Drivers should use Long Branch Road, then Macedonia Road, then Stonewall Jackson Road to avoid the scene.

At this time, the department could not provide a time for the road to reopen.
