WILLIAMSBURG, Va. (WRIC) — Colonial Williamsburg is offering free admission to certain areas on July 4 in celebration of Independence Day.

On Thursday, July 4, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Colonial Williamsburg will be offering free tickets to its Historic Area and Art Museums as a way to celebrate the beginning of America’s independence.

“There’s no better place to take stock of our collective achievements and opportunities than here in Williamsburg, in the very same streets and buildings in which our national identity was first shaped,” said Cliff Fleet, president and CEO of The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation.

According to the foundation, visitors can expect an entertaining and educational schedule of events, including a Declaration of Independence reading, building tours and fireworks.
