STAFFORD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A woman was arrested and charged in connection to an alleged DUI crash in Stafford County in which her car rolled over.
According to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office, a deputy responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on the 1300 block of Kings Highway at around 4:50 a.m. on Tuesday, June 18.
It was determined that the driver was heading west when the car crossed over the median and went off the road before rolling over and coming to a stop. Among the debris scattered outside of the car, the deputy found an empty box of Twisted Tea.
The two people in the car, both of whom were injured taken to a local hospital for treatment, showed clear signs of intoxication, according to the Sheriff’s Office. The driver, who told the deputy that “nobody” was driving the car at the time of the crash, was found to have a revoked license due to a previous DUI conviction.
The driver, who police only identified as a 20-year-old woman, was charged with driving under the influence, DUI maiming, driving with a revoked license and reckless driving.
