HENRICO COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — The Greater Richmond Transit Company (GRTC) will launch its fifth LINK Microtransit zone in eastern Henrico County in July.

According to GRTC, LINK Microtransit is coming to the Sandston and Elko areas of Henrico on Monday, July 1. This is the fifth and final area that will be a part of the program’s pilot.

GRTC riders can request rides to and from anywhere inside of the zones from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday. The boundaries of the eastern Henrico zone have not yet been defined by GRTC.

The LINK pilot program launched in November of 2023 with service in central Henrico around the intersection of Chamberlayne Avenue and West Laburnum Avenue. Since then, the program has expanded to the Midlothian area of Chesterfield County, as well as Powhatan County and the Ashland area of Hanover County.

Riders can use the GRTC On the Go mobile app or call GRTC at 804-358-4781 to request a ride. Like the rest of GRTC’s services, LINK Microtransit is free for all riders. More information about LINK can be found here.
