POWHATAN COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Nature lovers can learn about medicinal plants in Central Virginia while walking throughout Powhatan State Park on Friday.

The walk will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Friday, June 21 at the park’s Launch A parking area.

Visitors will be guided along a hike with a ranger who will teach about how to identify some common medicinal plants in the region, as well as the cultural and historical uses of native pants in the park.

There is no cost to attend the event, although guests must pay the standard admission fee at the park’s entrance.
