TOPEKA (KSNT) – Hydration is very important as we see hotter days in Topeka, and officials are helping people who don’t have easy access to drinking water.

The Topeka and Shawnee County Homeless Task Force are running hydration stations around the Capital City.

These stations offer free bottled water to anybody who asks – no questions asked.

People who need bottled water can also receive an electrolyte packet to stay hydrated throughout the day.

The service will continue throughout the summer or as long as they have water to provide.

Ben Broxterman, Chairman of the Board of Directors at “Let’s Help” spoke to 27 News on why it is important for them to host this throughout the summer.

“Our goal again is to really make sure that the folks who both already come here for services or who maybe who don’t come here often just need to know, ‘hey there’s a safe place where I can go and get access to some fresh clean drinking water,” Broxterman said. “That’s really what we want to make sure we provide here.”

You can find stations at Valeo, Let’s Help and Catholic Charities of NE Kansas.

These locations also accept donated bottled water to keep handing out to people in need.
