Son Dinh, 50, of San Diego was in an argument with a woman inside a vehicle and suffered a fatal stab wound Monday, police said

Authorities have publicly identified a 50-year-old San Diego man who died from a stab wound this week during an argument with a woman in Oak Park.

San Diego police officers responding to a report of a possible assault about 12:30 a.m. Monday found Son Dinh lying on a sidewalk on Euclid Avenue near Laurel Street, bleeding from at least one stab wound to his upper body, according to police.

Paramedics took the victim to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police are characterizing the death as “suspicious.”

“It is still early in the investigation, and little is known about the circumstances leading up to the (stabbing),” homicide Lt. Steve Shebloski said Thursday afternoon.

Detectives learned that the victim was in an argument with a woman while they were inside a vehicle and the man suffered a fatal stab wound, Shebloski said. The woman’s role in the incident was still being evaluated, he said.
