A man was shot to death by a Craig police officer and Moffat County sheriff’s deputy Friday night in a trailer park, officials said Saturday.
Around 9:40 p.m. Friday, an officer from the Craig Police Department and a deputy from the Moffat County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of a man with a gun in the Cedar Mountain Mobile Home Community — located at 925 West 1st St. in Craig — according to a joint news release from both departments.
When the two arrived on the scene, they found a man brandishing a handgun, the release stated.
Information on what happened after the officer and deputy arrived was not available, but the incident ended with law enforcement officers shooting the man, according to the news release.

Paramedics transported the man to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries, the release stated.
The 14th Judicial District Critical Incident Response team is investigating the shooting, talking to witnesses and talking to the officer and deputy involved, who have both been placed on paid administrative leave pending the investigation. Both departments will also conduct an individual, internal investigation.
