BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — One man is now facing criminal charges after leaving the scene of a vehicle crash he caused on the morning of Saturday, June 22.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, at approximately 2:13 a.m., a Chevy Malibu was traveling eastbound on 25th Street one mile southeast of Spiritwood Lake when it left the roadway and entered the north ditch, before coming to rest in a farm field northeast of the roadway.

The driver and passenger of the vehicle (a 23-year-old man and 22-year-old woman from Jamestown, respectfully) are stated to have left the scene of the crash and walked to a nearby resort, and left prior to the arrival of law enforcement. No attempt to report the crash was made by either individual.

The passenger sustained minor injuries as a result of the crash. The driver was later located and arrested for Actual Physical Control, as well as Leaving the Scene of a Crash Involving Personal Injury.
