DINWIDDIE COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — A train track maintenance project conducted by CSX will begin on Monday and affect several crossings in Dinwiddie County.

According to an official post on the Dinwiddie Fire and EMS Facebook, beginning Monday, June 24, CSX will begin a large scale track maintenance project that will affect several crossings in the county.

The following is a tentative schedule with the dates and locations where the project will take place:

Monday, June 24 — Butler Branch Road and Oak Grove Road

Tuesday, June 25 — Ellington Road

Wednesday, June 26 — Woody’s Road and Carson Road/Halligan Park

According to officials, the schedule has a “high potential to change.” Dinwiddie Fire and EMS said it will post any updates received about the project.

Each crossing is expected to be affected for two to four days depending on the needed work.

Travelers are advised to follow detour signs and plan accordingly. According to Dinwiddie Fire and EMS, the goal is for one way in and out crossings to reopen within 24 hours.

Several private crossings will also be affected, however information about this scheduled work has not yet been announced.
