BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — If you see or hear a lot of commotion, sirens and flashing lights in Bismarck starting around 1:00 p.m., don’t worry — it’s an emergency response training exercise at the Bismarck Airport.

The airport is planning a full-scale emergency airfield exercise that will test the airport’s emergency plan, along with the plans of supporting mutual aid agencies.

The exercise is intended to allow area hospitals, fire, police, emergency readiness officials and airport personnel to practice their emergency roles in response to a simulated aircraft emergency.

Area residents should expect to see fire trucks, ambulance, police cars and other official vehicles engaged in the emergency exercise.

The airport urges people not to be alarmed by all the activity around 1:00 p.m. today.
