MINOT, ND (KXNET) — Injuries can happen at home, the workplace, or on the roadways.

Governor Burgum has declared June as Safety Month and says that unintentional injuries can cost workers more than $163 billion.

Some of the injuries that workers in oil and gas and agriculture face include suffocation, overheating, cuts, and crashes, and these injuries could even be fatal.

Leaders from the ND Safety Council say it’s great that even at the highest level of the state, they recognize the importance of safety.
