Torrential rains have pushed the Minnesota, Missouri, and Mississippi Rivers to their highest levels in nearly 15 years—causing dangerous floods in parts of the Midwest.

Some areas have received more than 18 inches of rain in a span of three days. At least 22 Minnesota counties have been declared disaster areas by the federal government.

One shaken homeowner, David Hruska, shared his story with news outlets after the Blue Earth River near Mankato, Minnesota, overflowed.

“You would never think in a million years our house would get washed away,” he said.

He recalled how he and his family rushed in to grab as many belongings as they could before their house collapsed.

In response to widespread damage—which has left entire communities under water—the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team (BG-RRT) is deploying to Le Sueur County, Minnesota, where crisis-trained chaplains will provide emotional and spiritual care to those affected.

As waters recede, BG-RRT chaplains will minister to locals alongside humanitarian aid organization Samaritan’s Purse beginning this week.

>>Please pray for people who are suffering from this terrible flooding, and for all those who will be serving the hurting and reminding them about the true peace found in Jesus Christ.
