ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – A fire is burning at a landfill in the Southwest Mesa in Albuquerque. The fire began before 3 p.m. at the Cerro Colorado Landfill. Bernalillo County firefighters are on scene and crews expect to be out there for some time.
The city has shut down the landfill and staff, including the Environmental Health Department, are monitoring the situation. It’s unclear what caused the fire.
