CHARLESTON COUNTY. S.C. (WCBD) – Charleston County will hold a public meeting next week to discuss a Dorchester Road improvement project.

Officials say the project, funded through the county’s second Transportation Sales Tax, includes improvements to roadway capacity, key intersection efficiency, and system continuity along Dorchester Road from Michaux Parkway to the Charleston County line.

Residents who attend the drop-in-style meeting can review initial project concepts and speak with the project team.

The meeting will be held on Thursday, September 26 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the cafeteria at Jerry Zucker Middle School (6401 Dorchester Road).

Representatives from the South Carolina Department of Transportation will also be available to discuss the project and planned safety improvements, including Dorchester Road from Michaux Parkway to Kent Avenue. There will not be a formal presentation.

People are encouraged to submit public comments by filling out a written comment card in person at the Sept. 26 meeting or by emailing the project team at info@dorchesterroadimprovements.com.
