22News Storm Team Meteorologist Chris Bouzakis has a look at the fall foliage timeline.

CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) – It is now almost the middle of September, and with the warm days and the cool nights, leaves will be changing soon.

Usually between September 6th to September 13th, Massachusetts will start to see partial color beginning to form. Next week the colors will start to become more noticeable or patchy on the trees.

It is really not until September 27th to October 4th that color starts to become very common on the trees in southern New England. From October 4th to October 15th this is considered the peak of fall foliage in the Berkshires while from October 15th to October 25th is the foliage peak in the Pioneer Valley.

By November 1st all of western Massachusetts is past peak and the trees usually turn bare by November 15th.  Fall officially starts on September 22nd.
