A Thai driver caused significant disruption to traffic in Pattaya yesterday after refusing to leave her vehicle following a minor collision.
Pattaya police received reports at 6.06am yesterday, September 12, from locals about an accident on Pattaya Second Road in the Nong Prue subdistrict.
Upon arrival, officers and reporters discovered a white Honda Civic surrounded by residents and rescue workers. The driver, believed to be heavily intoxicated, refused to exit the car or communicate with the other drivers involved, leading to a traffic jam.
Police spent over 30 minutes persuading the driver to step out of her vehicle. She eventually complied, claiming she was waiting for insurance representatives who never arrived. A bottle of alcohol was found inside the car and taken as evidence by the police.
