EDDY COUNTY, N.M. (KRQE) – The human remains of an infant were found in Eddy County on Sept. 6, the Eddy County Sherriff’s Office announced Friday.

Detectives found the remains near milepost 48 on Queen Highway (State Road 137). Officials responded to the area after the Carlsbad Police Department contacted the sheriff’s office about a potential lead in the case of an infant who had been reported missing.
