Pattaya Tourist Police arrested an Indian man for allegedly stealing a phone from an Uzbek tourist on Walking Street early Sunday morning, September 15th, 2024.

At 6:36 AM, Pattaya Tourist Police detained Mr. Oswal M. C., a 43-year-old Indian national, along with a Vivo Y200 Pro 5G smartphone that he had allegedly stolen from the victim, 38-year-old Ms. Tosheva from Uzbekistan.

Ms. Tosheva reported to police that she had placed her phone on a table while dining at an entertainment venue on Walking Street. An unidentified Indian man approached her, engaged her in a brief conversation, and then left. When she later discovered her phone was missing, she suspected the Indian man had stolen it.

The police, after being notified, reviewed CCTV footage from the venue and identified the suspect. They located Mr. Oswal still walking along Walking Street.

Upon being stopped and searched, police found Ms. Tosheva’s phone in his front left pocket. Mr. Oswal was taken to Pattaya Tourist Police Station, where he reportedly admitted to the theft. The suspect has been charged with theft and will face legal proceedings according to Thai law.
