WILLIAMSBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) – Schools in Williamsburg County will be closed Monday due to the threat for severe weather.

While students will not head to class, the district said staff should report to work if they can.

Georgetown County schools are also closed Monday.

A tropical storm warning is in effect along the South Carolina coast a system is expected to further develop before making landfall north of Charleston sometime Monday.

Heavy rainfall, flooding, and gusty winds are likely.
