LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Tuesday! We are tracking off and on rain chances for your day today as tropical moisture moves in from the east. The mountains of southeastern Kentucky have the highest chance rain today (60-80%), while areas north and west of Lexington have a lower chance (10-30%). You can expect overcast-to-mostly cloud skies to remain in place all day. Temps will be taking a hit as well. Most locations will remain in the mid-to-upper 70s.

Rain chances become much more isolated overnight, with just a few showers around. Wednesday will still feature isolated rain chances, mainly to the south and east of Lexington. Rainfall totals between today and Wednesday will be generally light. The mountains could pick up a half inch to an inch in spots, with central Kentucky only receiving around a few tenths of an inch at most.

By Thursday most locations will be drying out and we will be starting a warming trend that will last into the weekend. Afternoon highs on Thursday will peak around the mid-80s, before climbing into the mid-to-upper 80s by Friday. Saturday and Sunday will remain around the upper 80s, with some locations pushing the low 90s. The weekend also looks dry as well, with our next rain chance likely holding off until next week.
