How to check if you’re registered to vote and change your political party in Massachusetts

22News reporter Kiara Smith joins us live in the studio with what you need to know.

As it gets closer to the November election the first step is making sure that you complete your voter registration and make sure your party is up to date. If you’re looking to change your political party you can submit a new voter registration form at least 10 days before an election.

When doing your registration you can also update your address and name. There is one voter registration deadline you may want to keep in mind. the online and in-person registration deadline in Massachusetts is Saturday, October 26th.

If you plan to register by mail using the National Mail Voter Registration form, it must be printed, signed, and postmarked by October 26th as well. To check your voter status visit the Secretary of the Commonweath’s website.
