Busanan Ongbamrungphan advanced to the second round of the US$2 million BWF China Open in Changzhou on Wednesday.
The Thai star defeated Polina Buhrova of Ukraine 21-23, 21-6, 21-9 in her opening match at the Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium in Changzhou.
She will play Yeo Jia Min of Singapore in the last 16 of the World Tour Super 1000 event.
