With seven London clubs in the Premier League it is hardly surprising that local derbies come thick and fast in England’s capital city. Last week was the “big one”, the North London clash in which Arsenal secured an important 1-0 away win at Tottenham Hotspur.

There is no respite for Spurs who this week have another derby, this time against Brentford from the west of the city and sometimes jokingly referred to as “a bus stop in Hounslow.” Admittedly, the rivalry is not of the intense proportions of that with the Gunners. The obvious reason is that the clubs had been playing in different divisions until the past three seasons after Brentford were promoted to the top flight.
