Pumpkin Contest

The giant pumpkin contest is also happening Friday night. Farmers from across the region will bring their prize pumpkins and squash to the fairgrounds. Anyone who can beat the current record of over 1,600 pounds will win a $500 prize! The weighing begins at 6:30 p.m. at the Mallory Arena.

Dolly’s Honky Tonk Events on Friday

Fairgoers are invited to join the boot-stomping, line dancing, mechanical bull riding, live entertainment, and more at Dolly’s Honky Tonk in the new Boot Scootin’ Saloon at The Big E. Dolly’s Honky Tonk is located by Gate 7 featuring country musicians and western entertainers throughout the 17 days of the fair.

Kansas Carradine – September 20-22, 2, 5 & 8 p.m.

Actress and lasso artist Kansas Carradine boasts more than 30 years in the entertainment industry. Showmanship is in her blood; her grandfather, John Carradine, and father, David Carradine, were both formidable actors that fostered a western legacy that Kansas carries with grace in a masterful trick rope performance.

Whiskey Traveler – September 20, 3 & 6 p.m.

Whiskey Traveler is an alternative Country/Americana family band from Westfield, Mass. They recorded an original EP, Call Me Broken, in 2017, and are presently crafting their next hits.
