A felony warrant has been obtained against a Nashville 15-year-old in connection to threats made Wednesday against Southwind High School in Memphis.

MEMPHIS, Tenn. — A felony warrant has been obtained against a Nashville 15-year-old in connection to threats made Wednesday against Southwind High School in Memphis, Sheriff Floyd Bonner said.

The teen, who lives in Nashville, was taken into custody and detectives are traveling to Memphis to transfer him to juvenile custody.

He reportedly made several threatening phone calls to the school Wednesday morning, and posted threats on social media to shoot up the school.

More than 50 deputies responded to Southwind, Bonner said.

A series of threats, which school district officials said began with Southwind but spread to other schools, resulted in a districtwide lockdown Wednesday.

Bonner could not provide details on what connections, if any, the teen had to Southwind or the Memphis area.
