WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – There wasn’t much in the way of sunshine Friday at the Big E but there were still plenty of people enjoying the food and fun at New England’s Great State Fair.

The cool and comfortable weather made for near-perfect conditions for walking around the fairgrounds. “This year’s fantastic, even though it’s a little overcast today. It’s made it great with a little breeze, not direct sun. We’ve been enjoying ourselves,” said Glenn Woods of South Deerfield.

“The first couple of days were warm. Today is great, no sun beating on you, nice breeze, very nice,” said Jim McClure of Agawam.

There were quite a few clouds and it was a bit breezy, but temperatures in the lower 70s made it feel more like fall compared to the summer weather on Thursday when temperatures climbed up into the mid 80s.

The dry stretch of weather we’ve been having has also led to some pretty big crowds at the Big E this year. Last Saturday and again on Tuesday they saw record attendance numbers.
