Richard Nejame, 29, faces 20 years in prison.
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) — According to the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), a Schenectady man was sentenced for receiving and attempting to receive child sex abuse images. Richard Nejame, 29, faces 20 years in prison.
This follows Nejame’s guilty plea from April where he admitted to contacting several underage girls over social media, pretending to be a teenage boy, and encouraging them to take and send nude pictures and videos of themselves. Once he received the videos or pictures, Nejame would tell the girls to take more sexually explicit ones, according to the DOJ.
Nejame also admitted to threatening the girls who did not comply that he would embarrass them and expose them by publishing their images online. The DOJ says this happened between October 2022 and May 1, 2023.
Nejame also faces 25 years of supervised release and will have to register as a sex offender upon release from imprisonment.
