CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCBD) – High tide resulted in flooding along some downtown Charleston roadways on Friday morning.

The National Weather Service in Charleston said tide levels at the Charleston Harbor Tide Gage reached 7.74 feet as of 9:55 a.m. High tide is 10:20 a.m.

“Moderate coastal flooding is ongoing across Charleston and we have started to receive reports of flooding along Market Street,” the NWS Charleston office said.

A coastal flood advisory was put into place for coastal Charleston and Colleton counties from 8 a.m. until noon. “Saltwater inundation will be possible 1 to 2 hours before and after high tide,” the advisory said.
