Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to Governor’s Square Mall Saturday morning.

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Governor’s Square Mall is back open after reports of shots fired cleared the area earlier Saturday morning.

Multiple law enforcement agencies responded to mall just after 10:45 a.m. after reports of shots fired at the mall on Wilma Rudolph Blvd.

According to the Clarksville Police Department (CPD), the shooting was initially believed to have occurred inside the building; however, witnesses said the incident took place outside on a nearby perimeter road and in the mall parking lot.


Standoff situation underway in East Nashville

Law enforcement evacuated the mall as a precautionary measure and performed a protective sweep of the facility, per CPD. The mall was cleared at 1:42 p.m. and employees and shoppers were permitted to re-enter.

There was no one shooting inside the mall, and there are still no reported victims, according to CPD.

The initial investigation shows the incident was an isolated one between two parties and not a random act. Detectives will District 3 Criminal Investigations are actively investigating this incident and ask anyone with information to call 911.
