ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (KRQE) – An Albuquerque city employee is behind bars accused of beating up a man in front of Frontier restaurant on Central Ave. in June. Police arrested 36-year-old Alfred Flores on Friday. A woman told police that she was leaving the restaurant with her husband when two people tried to steal her purse. An altercation broke out and that is when police say Flores came out and started to fight the husband.


Officials: Albuquerque speed cameras effective in slowing drivers down

Flores is accused of putting the man in a headlock causing him to pass out. Police said he then kicked the victim in the face. Flores is being charged with aggravated battery and attempt to commit robbery. A detention hearing is set for this Wednesday. Police have identified the two others in the assault but have not released any further information.
