According to Holyoke Public Schools, a social media threat is being investigated at Holyoke Public Schools and other districts in Massachusetts.

HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) – An increase in police are at Holyoke Public Schools after an alleged social media threat over the weekend.


Pittsfield police locate suspects involved in possible school threats

According to Holyoke Public Schools, a social media threat is being investigated at Holyoke Public Schools and other districts in Massachusetts. There was a specific threat which named Sullivan School, however school officials say that there are two middle schools in Massachusetts with the name Sullivan: Sullivan Middle School in Holyoke and Sullivan Middle School in Worcester.

On Monday all students at Sullivan Middle School located at Jarvis Avenue in Holyoke were scanned with a metal detector and bags were searched before being allowed into the school.

As the investigation continues, school officials say that the police will continue their presence at all public schools in Holyoke. Parents are asked to talk with their children to speak with a trusted adult if they hear or see anything that could potentially be dangerous.
