The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed reports of a single-engine plane that has gone down in water.

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed reports of a small, possibly single-engine plane that has gone down in water.

Initial reports of the crash came in on Monday just after 2:15 p.m. on Chapmansboro Road. The area Emergency Management Agency coordinator told News 2 that at this time, fire units have been called to respond to the scene.

Area responders reported seeing smoke, but could not confirm that the smoke had come from a plane crash. The Federal Aviation Administration has been contacted.
