MONCKS CORNER, S.C. (WCBD) – A woman being held at the Hill-Finklea Detention Center has died after experiencing a medical emergency.

The Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office said staff at Hill-Finklea responded to a detention center pod about an unresponsive female. Medical personnel and deputies attempted to perform life-saving measures while waiting for Berkeley County EMS.

Officials say the female was pronounced dead at the scene.

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division was notified to investigate the death, as per the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and state protocol, the sheriff’s office said.

The Berkeley County Coroner’s Office identified the woman as 30-year-old Harmoney F. Timmer of Ladson. She will undergo an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.
