LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – Local businesses were hitting the links for a great cause on Monday at Twin Hills Country Club in Longmeadow.

It was the 4th annual YMCA golf tournament and it’s the largest fundraiser that they do all year.

This fundraiser ensures that individuals in need have access to YMCA programs such as summer camp, teen programming, after-school programs, childcare, preschool, families, seniors, health and wellness, and much more.

Adam Quenneville Roofing & Siding was the presenting sponsor and other local companies and golfers supported the good cause while also competing for prizes.

The money being raised is seen as vital for the YMCA.

“Our campaign is really designed to be able to build funds so that we can give scholarships of financial assistance to the young people and families in our organization,” said the CEO of the YMCA of great Springfield, Dexter Johnson. “We do health and wellness programs and childcare for 400 kids a day and so our financial assistance program really ensures that they’re able to get that service regardless of their ability to pay.”

Over 176 golfers were at this event and their goal was to raise over 70 thousand dollars.
