The San Diego Zoo in the United States has unveiled a baby aardvark, a long-nosed, long-eared piglet that was once the inspiration for Disney’s Piglet.

September 24, 2024, AP news agency reported that the San Diego Zoo Wildlife Alliance revealed that there was a baby “aardvark” (Aardvark), a rare animal, born at the San Diego Zoo in San Diego, California, USA. The baby aardvark was born to mother “Padme” and father “Azahn” of the San Diego Zoo in July. It is the first baby aardvark to be born at this zoo.

The baby aardvark, which has not yet been officially named, has been sniffing around the zoo, learning to dig and play in the bushes, while its mother is keeping a close eye on it. The zoo will soon be open to the public.

Aardvark is a mammal native to Africa. It has a long snout similar to a ground pig. This rare animal was once the inspiration for Disney’s pink piglet “Piglet”.
