(NEWS10) — Some local schools received recognition for their unified sports programs. Special Olympics New York said Hoosick Falls and Glens Falls High Schools have earned national banner status.
It is the highest honor given by the Special Olympics. Schools must have a plan to continue their programs into the future. Saratoga Springs had their designation renewed.
Unified sports teams combine students with and without disabilities to foster understanding and inclusion.
