PUTNAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Jackson County Sheriff’s Department responded to a shooting in a trailer park on Saturday, leading to the apprehension of two Putnam County residents.

On Tuesday, the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office interviewed a witness who confirmed the involvement of two shooters in the incident. Putnam County deputies subsequently executed a search warrant at a property on Anderson Lane and arrested Elijah Meek. During the search, agents recovered the firearm used in Saturday’s shooting.

Additionally, an unnamed 17-year-old was located and arrested at a Cookeville residence. Authorities said that another firearm stolen out of Sparta was recovered and seized. The teen has been charged with attempted first degree murder and reckless endangerment.

As of publication, they are being held at the Putnam County Juvenile Detention Center without bond. The teen’s court date has been set for Thursday.

Meek was charged with criminal conspiracy of attempted first degree murder and reckless endangerment. Meek’s arraignment has been scheduled for Thursday at the Jackson County General Sessions Court.
