Despite the wet weather people were still able to enjoy New England’s Great State Fair.

WEST SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – Since the Big E began almost two weeks ago, they have enjoyed a run of mainly dry and sunny weather, and that has resulted in some record-breaking crowds.

That came to an end on Thursday with the first rainy day of the Big E this year. Despite the wet weather people were still able to enjoy New England’s Great State Fair.

“We have been waiting for it to rain actually because how can you do the Big E without a rain day this is great we look forward to coming in the rain…one of the things we do is that we make sure we hit every vendor just to see what they have talk with them,” said Bre Haut of Agawam.

“Didn’t care about the weather and look we’re having a great time, food, festival, checking out the animals just having a great time spending a couple of vacation days up here,” said Theresa Sardella of Clifton, New Jersey.

People came prepared with their umbrellas and rain jackets. And there are some benefits to coming to The Big E on a rainy day, you don’t have to fight the large crowds and there are plenty of indoor venues and activities to check out all around the fairgrounds.
