LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW)- Brock Vandagriff’s last away game as a starter was when he played high school football.

Although the former Georgia Bulldog has experienced SEC road game environments before, Saturday’s game versus Ole Miss will be his first as QB1.

“It wasn’t a crazy boost of confidence.” said Vandagriff on last weeks win versus Ohio. “We know what we’re capable of. We just have to go out there and execute it.”

For the first time this season, crowd noise was pumped into Kentucky’s practices ahead of the team’s first away game. Vandagriff says the ruckus is the biggest difference of playing on the road.

“Coach (Mark) Stoops and Coach (Bush) Hamdan have done a good job of trying to replicate that as much as they can,” said Vandagriff. “Executing the offense is the main thing. The quarterback has to be the most prepared person out there.”

As far as getting his team into the mood to play Brock says that he’s excited for a new experience and chance for a win.

“It’s just another opportunity to play football again. There’s no stand on a chair rah rah stuff. It’s just do your job,” said Vandagriff.
