The Metro Nashville Police Department said 35-year-old Lovelle Winton-Jones was served with a first-degree murder indictment on Thursday, Sept. 26 in relation to a deadly shooting from July 14.

Officials said Winton-Jones’ girlfriend, 20-year-old Jamani Parker, was found unresponsive that mid-July morning by U.S. Army Corps of Engineers employees at the Alta Lake Greenway trailhead off Dodson Chapel Road. Parker was brought to the hospital, where she died.

According to police, Winton-Jones has been incarcerated since July 26 for nine charges, including drug possession and evading arrest.

No additional details have been released about this case.
