WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) – The Kiwanis Club of Westfield will host their first “Western Mass End Hunger” event on Saturday in Scanlon Hall at Westfield State University.

State Line Propane and Oil opens a show room in Westfield

The goal of the event is to package 10,000 ready-to-make meals that will be distributed throughout the clubs in combined areas. The Kiwanis Club of Westfield will be joined by six other Kiwanis clubs from Western Mass and Enfield Connecticut.

“We hope that this is just the first of an annual event,” said Organizer Daniele Sturmer. “Service projects like this demonstrate what Kiwanis is all about. It makes us proud to know we
will be assisting members of our local communities who struggle with food insecurity.”

“Food sustainability in Western MA is a huge need and we hope this provides some much
needed relief to our communities,” said Organizer Heidi Leonard.

This event will run from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
