HANAHAN, S.C. (WCBD) – Hanahan city leaders are collecting supplies to help residents in Augusta, Georgia recover from the recent hurricane.

Excelsior, a private ambulatory care group for veterans, will deploy for Augusta later this week. Several members of the Hanahan Fire Department work for the organization.

They will help with cleanup efforts and deliver essential items to people in need.

The city is collecting cleaning supplies like wipes, disinfectant sprays, paper towels, large trash bags, and non-perishable snacks, bottled water, and small outdoor toys to entertain children while adults are working.

Donations will be accepted through the close of business on Wednesday, and the items can be dropped off at the Community Services Window in the lobby at Hanahan City Hall.
