Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating an incarcerated man who walked away from a pre-release facility.

NORFOLK, Mass. (WWLP)– Authorities are seeking the public’s help in locating an incarcerated man who walked away from a pre-release facility.

According to the Massachusetts Department of Correction (DOC), Kevin O’Brien, aged 72, was serving his sentence for motor vehicle theft at the Pondville Correctional Center in Norfolk, Massachusetts. He was last seen on the grounds of the minimum/pre-release facility on Tuesday, October 1, around 9:30 a.m.

Video footage shows O’Brien at around 10am leave the track area of the facility and walk into the nearby woods. The DOC called area police departments and Massachusetts State Police. Investigators are using K-9s and drones in the search.

O’Brien was last seen wearing dark blue jeans with a crewneck sweatshirt, a navy-blue windbreaker, navy blue ballcap and thick, large black glasses and possibly clear headphones. He is  5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs around 160 pounds, has blue eyes and is partly bald with white hair.

If seen, police warn to not approach him, but instead to call 911 and report the siting.
